Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

You can download print-quality PDF/X files from the EU Publications website. PDF/X is a special type of PDF file created to facilitate the exchange of graphics and printing-related specifications. With these PDF/X files, you can reproduce as many copies of EU publications as you wish, within the limits of the general principles for reuse, by yourself, or with the help of a professional copy-shop, printer or specialised print-on-demand service.

EU publications for which PDF/X files are available, are marked with a blue information icon (i) in the download section of the publication's page. Inside the download section, there will be two PDF icons: one regular PDF icon and one PDF-HD icon. The print-quality PDF/X files can be downloaded by clicking the link behind the PDF-HD icon.

All PDF/X files for a specific language version of a publication are downloaded as a single zip file. For longer publications, the zip file contains a PDF/X file for the content and a separate PDF/X file for the cover. These files are offered ‘as-is’. The Publications Office does not provide services for printing or adapting these files.

A limited offer of publications is available in print format, while stocks last. To facilitate home-printing, print-quality PDF/X files are available for a large number of items on the EU Publications website (see more under ‘Print an EU Publication’).
